Community Yarn Art Workshop

A 3-hour workshop, celebrating mindful creation and the magic of the garden.

Join me and others in bringing a yarn art installation to life.

As part of Eden Unearthed, this fun workshop celebrates all creative talents, adding to a fun and unique community art installation for everyone to enjoy.

Crochet is an art form. Whether it is for blankets, beanies or to wrap around a tree, crochet will bring to life and create a story to share.

It is also a craft that brings people together, beginners and experts alike, sitting and crocheting together allows us to chat, share knowledge simply be in the moment. This act of mindfulness combined with a community activity creates a colourful and relaxed blank canvas for us to work with, the outcome being different every time we meet.

This year I have been lucky enough to crochet my way around the children’s space at Eden Gardens for Eden Unearthed and I would love to share and grow my installation with you.

Whether you are a beginner or advanced in crochet, join me and create some critters to add to the garden. ‘The Magic of the Garden’ is my installation that will be part of Eden Unearthed from August through to January 2020. Walk through and touch the yarn bombed trees, see the crochet spider webs, find the hidden fairy garden and make a wish under the rainbow. Each piece has been crocheted and I would love to share some of my ideas with you over a crochet hook.

This workshop includes 3-hours of crochet time, making bugs, butterflies, rainbows, clouds….. all kinds of magical garden critters that bring a child’s imagination to life. Once completed, you can add your creation to my installation… tell others that you are an exhibiting artist!

All materials provided for you to come along and craft.

The theme for our yarn art will be THE MAGIC OF THE GARDEN.
